FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS(F.A.Q)
How is the procedure performed?
Before any procedure, our patients undergo a thorough evaluation and pass all necessary tests. Depending on the type of procedure, it may be performed under local anesthesia or in combination with intravenous anesthesia with propofol (Diprivan), which we refer to as "medication sleep." During this sleep, patients experience no pain and may even have dreams with a calm and positive plot.
How long do hematomas last?
If the implantation of gold threads is done at the recommended time, taking into account the lunar cycle and the onset of menstruation in women, hematomas are rare. The use of tranexamic acid (Tranexam) is also a good prevention method for surgical hematomas.
If hematomas do occur, external signs can be concealed with foundation cream, starting from the fourth day after the operation. Usually, patients return to work on Monday after the operation is performed on a Thursday.
During the early postoperative period (within three days), patients apply an antiinflammatory ointment such as triamcinolone (Ftorocort) or fluocinolone acetonide (Flucinar) to the treated area. They can then use a moisturizer and conceal any bruises with foundation. When the timing of the operation is properly chosen, taking into account astrological recommendations and the patient's monthly cycle, the effects of the operation are not noticeable by the fifth to seventh day.
How do gold threads differ from other threads on the market?
One of the most common questions patients ask during consultations is how gold threads differ from other threads on the market. The answer lies in the effectiveness and longevity of the threads.
All certified threads are effective to some degree, but long-term practical results have confirmed that polylactic threads are more effective than their "Korean" counterparts. Absorbable threads typically provide 4-8 months of facelift results, with some threads requiring additional tightening after a year. It's important to discuss re-tightening techniques with your surgeon.
Gold threads, on the other hand, provide a guarantee of 10 years or more. This is a significant positive difference when compared to other threads on the market. The longevity of the results means less time and money spent on follow-up treatments and a more sustainable option for patients looking to achieve long-lasting facial rejuvenation.
GOLD THREAD™ MISCONCEPTIONS
Misconceptions | Details |
Gold Threads cause allergies | Gold threads used in aesthetic medicine are made of 24-karat gold, which is a biocompatible and inert material that does not cause allergies. In rare cases, patients may experience an allergic reaction to the adhesive used to secure the threads, but this can be easily treated with antihistamines. |
Gold Threads require special care | After the procedure, patients can return to their normal activities without any special care requirements. However, it is recommended to avoid intense physical activity and exposure to direct sunlight for the first week after the procedure. |
Gold Threads are painful | Gold Thread™ implantation is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed under local anesthesia. Patients may feel some mild discomfort during the procedure, but it is generally well-tolerated and does not require pain medication. |
Gold Threads can only be used on the face | Gold threads can be used on different parts of the body, including the neck, arms, abdomen, and buttocks, to lift and tighten the skin. |
Gold Threads are a permanent solution | Gold threads provide a long-lasting effect, but they are not permanent. The threads will gradually dissolve over time, but the collagen fibers that form around the threads will continue to support the lifted and tightened skin. To maintain the results, patients may need to undergo additional procedures after several years. |
